The museum's building in Linköping has been completely renovated and has been closed to visitors for a long time, but now opens in May 2022 and is only a few meters from Linköping concert and congress.
Here are cuts presented and while tonight's guides greet us we will get something in our glasses and something nice to eat.
At the museum, there is always something exciting to discover, among cultural treasures of various kinds. The range of exhibitions and activities is large and everyone feels equally welcome.
After initial welcoming, we get to walk around and the hosts are around in the museum to tell more.
The Art Department has everything, from international 16th century art to Swedish contemporary art. The computer history exhibition Digital Dreams is about the emergence of the Internet, the gaming industry and the computer in art. The cultural-historical exhibition Östgötaliv contains the skeletons from Bergsrondellen together with Oscar Nilsson's fantastic reconstructions of the three people who were buried there.
Later in we found out which temporary exhibitions that can further spice up the experience.

The Berg Locks are Göta Canal’s biggest attraction – the Carl Johan staircase, with its 7 connected locks. It is quite a performance to see the boats navigate the stairs, fascinating many spectators. If you are lucky you may see one of the vintage canal boats Wilhelm Tham, Diana or Juno negotiating the locks.
The Berg Locks are a perfect excursion with their unique locks and beautiful views. In the area there are restaurants, cafés, ice-cream kiosks, shops, adventure golf, cycle rental, swimming spots, hostels etc. In summer there are a multitude of additional activities and events on offer.
The Göta Canal is open to boat traffic 4th May – 27th September 2015, but Berg Locks is worth a visit at any time of year.

The Kinda Canal flows peacefully through the lovely Östergyllen. From the oak woodlands and broad plains in the north to the picturesque forest district in the south. A distance of 43 nautical miles – or about 80 km, if you prefer. The Kinda Canal, with its lake system, is an incredible nature adventure for the whole family. You’ll cruise through narrow, verdant canals and broad lakes like Roxen, Rängen, Järnlunden and Åsunden. Among the islands and shorelines you’ll find cosy camping spots, secluded bays perfect for swimming and ideal launch places.
You can also rent a canoe and let the adventure begin! There are several places where you can rent a canoe or kayak. For example at Stiftsgården Vårdnäs. If you don't have your own boat to explore the Kinda Canal in, you can always take part in a breathtakingly beautiful day trip, evening trip or shorter journey on a passenger boat. A cruise along the Kinda Canal is a ride through glorious scenery and changing landscapes. It’s also a journey through time. The M/S Kind is a good option for fine food, great music and a good time with friends.

The charm lies in its size. Big enough to have nearly everything, small enough to have it all to hand. Linköping is quite simply a little big city. Welcome to Linköping City!
We Linköping residents prefer to get around the city on foot or cycling, as we have everything close by. Hotels are located close to restaurants, which are located near shops, which are close to Stångån for strolling with a short walk to the theatre, yes you see the city is all within walking distance.
We all have different purposes to our travels so it is hard to say exactly what you will experience when you come to Linköping, but we can help you along the way to find what interests you more quickly.
